The house operation on Parasite — live and verifiable on-chain.
It doesn't balloon while you wait — your slice stays the same; the pool still has to hit the block. The range has a floor: the rate only moves up if the finder had meaningful work.

Cost of 1 PH/day on MiningRigRentals versus what the pool pays today to whoever does not find the block.

Parasite returns 0.60× the rental cost — still below break-even.
The finder's 1 BTC leaves the split — that's why expected payout often sits under rental. The index rises when hash gets cheaper or network fees climb. This is a snapshot of this round, not a forever average.
“Plebs eat first”: the finder takes 1 BTC; the rest is split by work.
The worker that closes the block gets a full 1 BTC, immediately.
The remaining ~2.1 BTC + fees go to everyone else, proportional to work.
On every pool block — not only when 'you win'. No pool fee, on-chain or Lightning.
Already paid = exact on-chain. Next block = estimate (the finder's slice leaves the split). Error only pushes the rate up, never down.
Payout, work, and the next-block estimate.
When the pool finds a block, the worker that found it takes a fixed 1 BTC and leaves the split. The rest of the reward (~2.125 BTC plus block fees) is divided among everyone else, proportional to work accumulated since the last block. You get paid on every block the pool finds, not only when 'you win', with no pool fee and payouts from 10 satoshis.
It's the round rate: the split amount divided by the work that enters the split, per billion work units. Watch the denominator: it is not total round work, it is total minus the finder's work (they already took 1 BTC). Ignoring that understates payout by 4% to 8%. The rate is the same for everyone in the round, so your payment is your work (in billions) times that rate, whether you get paid on-chain or over Lightning.
Amounts already paid are exact and verifiable on-chain. 'Next block' is an estimate for a specific reason: nobody knows who will close the block yet, and the winner's slice leaves the split. That only pushes the rate up, never down, so the estimate has a floor. We use the expected winner slice (proportional to each person's work) and the shown range covers the rest. It also doesn't balloon while you wait: as everyone's work grows together, your slice stays stable.
Use Manual mode: enter your hashrate (for average earning rate) and, if you want, the accumulated work from your Parasite dashboard (for the next block). Because the round rate is the same for everyone, the result holds whether you get paid on-chain or over Lightning.
